Our Story

Banchory Farm is a 700 acre farm in the heart of Fife, Scotland. Four hundred and eighty acres is arable where we grow oats for porridge, wheat and barley for distilling and oil seed rape for cooking oil. We have another 200 acres of permanent pastures where sheep and cattle graze. We have three pet highland cows, Emma, Poppy and Heather who live near our Drinkbetween Cottages. My grandfather purchased the farm in 1937 making us third generation farmers here. The farm use to employ a large number of farm workers who lived in many of the cottages that are now our holiday cottages. Times have changed and so must our farm. We have painstakingly renovated the cottages to ensure when you come and stay you have the most luxurious stay possible. After 15 years of living in Asia and working in the corporate world it’s a lovely change of pace but one that keeps us busier than ever. We are determined to ensure that the farm can continue on for generations to come so we are always working or dreaming up new projects.

We are passionate about sustainability and recently planted 4,500 trees to offset our carbon footprint and have plans to plant more trees along with planting wild bird cover on the edges of our fields to increase wild life. There is an abundance of deer, rabbits, hares, the occasional fox and plenty of pheasants who continually entertain us.

We love living here and being so connected to nature so we hope you will enjoy your stay here.
